Not too sure..was never really interested in screens so I never bothered checking... Mostly likely you'll just need some short RCA's to hook into the aux inputs in the HU. some vido RCA's (3 wires) to hook into the LCD Screen and a power wire (pretty sure here)..If I can get a cheap one I'm gonna look more into em..meself.

Cheers

Yeah...new indashes that are LCD/DVD are somewhere in the mid 1K area.
You can get indashes from ebay for around 500+, or just a raw one for 300+. I got my tv, which is an iconTV, off of ebay for 200....no problems yet and according to my friend when I play movies it "looks like you are watching it on a real tv".
But if you are looking at dvd/cd indash LCD screen look to pay the

oh dang! its that expensive?! forget that idea then..lol i'll just stick with the LCD screen and a new HU. but my main concern is that since its not indash, its exposed at all times. not including a better alarm, wat else can i do to protect myself?

You can always recess it in your dash or build a cover for it. Being exposed doesn't seem to be a big problem in my town, since we aren't that big on theft.
One con of a not indash lcd is that it gets dust and shnit on it so you have to wipe the screen off occasionally.

If you want a 7" visor LCd monitor here is one too. Here
Heck if I know if they are good though.

if you're looking for in-dash dvd/cd lcd, some top companies that make them are alpine, kenwood, pioneer, and clarion also has one, but its not out yet (talked to a rep a few min.s ago) but w/ in-dash dvd/cd lcd, you're talking pricey. around $2500 unless you know someone who is a dealer. i can get some fairly cheap from a friend who is a dealer. still pretty high though. were looking for some lcd's to put in the headrests and sunvisors of my civic. gonna buy the mirror w/ 1.8" lcd also.

for the price i would go with power acoustiks. my friend just got two for his visors about a month ago. they look great. and he's using a fm modulator for sound. also has his ps2 hooked up to it...

for $800 he got 2-5.6" power acoutiks monitors for his visor(so it's hidden)
power inverter for power to ps2
fm modulator for sound
tv tuner for tv.
n this was including installation too

i'm sure he could have gotten it cheaper tho. the monitors should be no more then $100 a peice. tv tuner was also by power acoutiks and they get that for $70 so i'm sure you could get it for $100. fm modulators are about $50. power inverters are about $50 too. oh n the wires n everything should only be about $20 the most.

so if you DIY it it's probably about $400 for the whole setup. oh n to get it at this price you'll most likely have to goto those small stereo shops. they try to rape you but with bargaining you'll be able to get it down to these prices.

no, probably not going to use power acoustics, they are low end, i'll probably use some of the same stuff i had before my car was broken into. they got everything but my HU (they only took the faceplate). but i'm replacing it too. i'm going w/ either alpine's dvd/cd in-dash HU or clarion's new in-dash unit, and some icon-tv monitors (they have from 1.8" mirror monitors to their 22 inch lg screen).

When I had a FM modulator the sound quality was HORRIBLE when I turned it up. Anyone's FM modulator working good for them? Plus now if I turn the volume up I can hear the amplification of my engine and a humming noise...someone said that was amplifier noise? But then I heard that the inverter makes a humming noise...any way to correct?

ya i could hear the engine noise in my friends car. not sure if it's because of the fm modulator tho. and when he turns on the power inverter it makes a loud humming noise.
