Which HU install kit is better, the Scosche kit or the Metra kit?
Which is better in terms of:
Fit (kit into dash)
Fit (HU into kit)
Pocket size
anything else you can think of
Thanks!!!

Metra has 2 kits..one with a pocket..and one without for those who have a pocket with OEM cover.. the one with the cover is generally fault free.. the one that allows you keep the OEM pocket is the one alot of folks are having trouble with.

I'm not sure which one I have, but my pocket w/ the door is still there. The only problem I have is that the pocket is hard to open. I don't even bother putting anything in it cause it's too small to really put stuff in and it warms up from the cd player, so it's a no-no for extra cd's.

I have the Scosche kit.. and well.. I hate it.. 1st I hate having to use an ISO mount.. sucks.. and that "pocket" the Scosche has.. is too small, Gimme back my door oh, and there's also the fact that (atleast my scosche) has a gap right below the head unit (it bows down like it warped itself).. bah.. Either I just got the bad one out of the group.. or it's crap I'm pondering making my own, cuz i'd like to keep the OEM pocket w/ the door.. I've thought about relocating the HU anyways, due to that damn glare problem that our car seems to induce.. anyone actually done a relocation successfully? (no, not to center console, to where the ashtray would be) and yes, i know i've seen posts asking about it too, but i'd like to hear about someone that pulled it off nicely

Someone also said that the Scosche warps over time? Anyway, that small pocket kinda made me stear clear of it. I wrote a review of the Metra kit here: Review of Metra Installation Kit and Wiring Harnesses I've seen the kit they sell at Best Buy in their audio installation center. I think that it's the best of the three. No gaps or anything. The only thing is a different texture and lighter color. Although I bet a little sand paper and some Armor All would solve that.

Yeah, except other people started using it. Oh well, I got this guy now. I'll try to make a scary lookin' alien one of these days, so my nick makes sense again.
