Cruise Control dilema. Please help.

Cruise Control dilema. Please help.
2001 HX.

One day on the interstate, the CC all of a sudden disengages. The main switch's green light goes out. I'm able to engage the CC without the green light BUT, after a while it disengages. No matter how many tines it's engaged, it disengages later. What gives?

I checked the fuse that says "ACC". Is that it? If yes, it's good.

Nope, completely stock. Tail lights work. Like I said, the green light is out but I'm able to engage the CC and then it disengages by itself.

Very weird.

Sounds like a short.

I have LED Taillights from Depo and my CC works like a boss.
