using a different headunit

hey guys, i just got a 01 civic lx and it has the factory cd player in it. i was wondering if the cd player from a 05 would fit? mine is the single cd, the 05 is a 6 cd

yes it will fit, but you need the trim piece i believe.

It should plug right in, I believe that 6 cd is from the special edition civic, I like the fact it has the 3.5mm input (wish I had one).

yeah it works fine, it can fit in the older dash trim, but for best looks you should get the 2005 special edition center console with the dials and *****. its made specifically for that unit.
