radio reception for new audio deck
radio reception for new audio deck
I want to replace the audio decks in mine & my wife's Civics with an Alpine (CBT-103BT) that would offer bluetooth connectivity with our iPhones. The only criticism I can find with this deck is poor radio reception. I spoke with the Alpine dealer, and he says this can be common, in spite of the deck manufacturer, when the car manufacturer fine-tuned the reception and antenna to include the car itself. He had no knowledge of this being affected by Hondas.
We would want to avoid poor radio reception because we listen to local AM talk radio a lot. Has anyone who has replaced their stock deck had problems with radio reception?

Re: radio reception for new audio deck
i have alpine 9847 in my 2002 civic and radio is perfect. be sure you securely plug in the antenna lead AND connect the power antenna wire from the oem harness to the deck. we do not have power antenna, but the rear window antenna contains a signal booster than needs power from that wire. otherwise you will have poor reception.
