Advice Amp
Advice Amp
So I didnt want to get aftermarket stereo and have a 2007 Civic EX Sedan
Obviously I cant get pre outs and have to use High Inputs.
I got an Alpine MRP-F300 4 Channel Amp
It has a built in High Input (4 channel)
I am keeping the stock speakers and got a JL 10" sub
They went and hooked it up and basically used the front head unit speaker outputs and split it into 4 channels at the amp.
If not using separate high level inputs into the amp going to distort the sound at all?
Hope this makes sense :P

Re: Advice Amp
rear channel mono to sub
so instead of using 2 sets of rca's because my stock deck doesnt have them they used only the front speaker 2 channel outs from the deck to the amp which they then split into 4 channels into the high input on the amp

Re: Advice Amp
So let me get this straight,
You have 1 output RCA on stock unit, got that
You plugged in a 4 chan amp,
2 front's you used for speakers, and the 2 rears you bridged for sub?
No it shouldn't distort the sound, as long as the amp is set correctly, however, you might underpower the sub

No- no RCA's involved
The alpine amp has a 4 channel high to low converter
Is there a degradation of quality if you split 2 high channels out from the head unit (front left and right speaker wire) into 4 channels going into the amp

Re: Advice Amp
Ah, I understand what you're saying now
Yes, there will probably be a horrible degration of audio quality
That's like attempting to split a telephone cable into 10 phones
Stock head unit's output is already low, when you try to split it more, the quality will lessen
My suggestion?
Get an aftermarket stereo, plug an amp in correctly with RCA's for your amp to reach full potential
