ok now i have some probs..... the fuse wasnt enough.... and i got a lil spark.....and the amp started to smell real bad.... i redid it an dgot the amp to come on .... now im getting no sound.... any ideas
?
?
if you got a lil spark that really isnt much to worry about. I've created sparks many times dis-connctng and connection wires from my amp. As for the smell I dunno... was the Amp tucked under your bed for a long time or sumthing? maybe a bug weaseled its way into the casing on it...
I really dont know what to tell you, I've never had a funny smell come from my amplifier, I have had the No Soudn though.
What I Did: I took my 1000D amp, flipped it, unscrewwed 6 screws, touched a couple of the circuit boards (kinda moved em a bit to make sure they were connected properly.), and literally blew(with my mouth) the inside. I pieced my amp back together and turned the ignition on, and bingo it worked. I as lucky I guess.
Another thing, check your fuse,... if it's blown: ask the person who you received the amp (friend/store) what size fuse it needs.

You fried your amp....In the furture ALWAYS!!!!! and I mean always disconnect the negative battery terminal when wiring anything in your car...the fuse size has no bearing on whether the amp will work or not(produce sound).. it's a Safety feature.. using the proper sized fuses is crucial to safe use of the amp.. if you use larger fuses..and something shorts..the amp may catch fire before the fuses blow.. so be smart..play safe..and don't let friends talk you into buying Road Gear!

send it back under warranty and they'll say you blew and bill you for shipping..take it to a local shop that does map repairs..probably run ya a whopping $40-60 if they can fix it ..if not they usually don't charge to look at it..
