Rear Speakers

Hello guys, i just bought a 2002 lx coupe and one of rear speakers is broken, so i'm looking to buy some descent speakers to replace the stock ones.

In this website http://www.crutchfield.com/ you can select what car you own and they show you which speakers fit, but i wanna make sure if its true. Do the Alpine SPR-69C (http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_5...tml?o=v&tp=105) will fit in my rear without any modifications?

Thank you

Re: Rear Speakers

crutchfeild is a rip off they always have been those same speakers are 99 dollars at sonic audio and you can get polk,MB QUART, infiniti, alpine 61/2 component systems for less then that. here you go save some money. also you can get plastic spacers or make your own.

Re: Rear Speakers

6×9 and smaller but it depends on the size of the magnet all you have to do is trace the stock speaker onto some ply wood cut it and you have a spacer its very simple.

Re: Rear Speakers

the reason some say 6x9 and some say 6.5 is because 4 door sedans use 6.5 round speakers, and 2 door coupes use 6x9s. if you really want, you can fit a 6.5 round into a coupe but your car will use a 6x9.

also, spacers work to lift the speaker if its too deep, but you cant just put in any spacer to raise it up as much as you want, because if you have too high of a spacer and the speaker sitting up too high, your rear deck panel will NOT fit in place, and neither will the rear pillar panels.

get speakers that fit and save yourself a huge headache. the alpine type-r 6x9s (the ones you were looking at) will fit perfect.
