speaker distortion when turned up.. help!
i have some polk audio 6.5 speakers in my doors and a aftermarket deck.. when i turn the volume up the voice cuts out when the bass hits and it makes a crackle kinda noise.. the speakers are fine but i think i need a crossover or maybe just a amp with one built in it? any suggestions i want the distortion gone but i want to be able to turn it up.
Re: speaker distortion when turned up.. help!
uh, do you have them wired up correctly? as in make sure you dont have positive going to negative and negative going to positive. also, you can't turn it up ridiculously loud and expect it to be perfect with just a deck and some 2ways or what not.

X2
Just because you have aftermarket speakers and head unit DOES NOT mean your speakers are powered enough. Your head unit probably puts out about 50 watts x 4= 12.5 watts per speaker
Check the limits for your speakers and find an amp that matches them. Otherwise, you will always get distortion.
Any other questions let me or ^ know
