Should an Ungo Alarm be draining my battery if I leave it sitting for a few days?
Should an Ungo Alarm be draining my battery if I leave it sitting for a few days?
I have an Ungo alarm on my 2001 Civic - just a basic alarm I think. When the car sits for a few days, the alarm drains the battery. Is this normal? Is there a way to adjust how much power the alarm draws--i.e. could it be drawing more power than it is supposed to in Standby mode?

have you tried not using the alarm for few days and see if the battery still drains? usually alarms hardly use any power when armed (and no power when unarmed). i have the same issue as you, my battery will slowly drain, but ive ruled out the alarm.

You cant adjust how much power it uses, nor should it drain in just a few days. Are you 100% sure its the alarm and not another issue?

Thanks for your replies, which seem pretty logical! I'll have a go at my wife, who likes to use the automatic locks, thus arming the alarm. I also decided to just replace the battery, as it was due for replacement. Hopefully this will solve the problem, but it's nice to know there's not a simple adjustment on the alarm that I should be considering.

Batteries generally are never "due" for replacement unless they are giving you problems. If yours is it could possibly be the cause.
