Wondering if I could Paint the speaker??

OK these aren't speakers for my car but there for my house...Ok I have regular speakers that came off some my old radio, juss wanted to know if I could paint the grill (its not a metal grill its a soft material u know whut im talking about well i wanted to spray paint something on to the soft grill materical that covers the speaker itself, i dunno will this work? will it effect the sound on the speakrs? some one help!!!!

it'll block mos tof the holes on the speaker cloth..also the paint will crack and chip and flake off..it'll also absorb alot of high frequency sound..

You might try dying the covers... Depending on what color they are, the color might or might not change.
I don't think spray painting will do it, as mohawk said, it'll probably just end up flaking off, and that wont
look too good.

My uncle and I installed a new pair of speakers in an NSX to replace the factory Bose speakers a while back. The grills were tan, and they were somewhat dirty where they had been accidentally kicked a few times. The guy who owned the car wanted to know if we could dye them black. We did, too. We used a spray on dye for cloth/vinyl. It worked rather well. It doesn't block any sound the way spray paint would, and it looks really nice. It won't crack or peel, either.

you could alway just re gcloth the covers .. wtih grille cloth !!!
