New Car deck?

I am planning for a new car deck for my 05 Civic to replace the stock one. Last weekend, I was at Best Buy, found two car decks Pioneer-50W x 4 MOSFET and Sony-52W x 4. I can't tell the differences between them, because for me they both are pretty much same. Please help me in selecting a best one. Wondering what should I look for when gonna choose a car deck?

I would pass on both of them and go with alpine. But if I had to choose one of them I would go with pioneer. Sony has not made good stuff sense 1997. Pioneer I have had the worst luck with and so has a lot of others. I have been with alpine for 4 years now and swear by them.

Also as far as what you should look for when getting a deck look for option that you will use. Are you going to run a external amp for your speakers and your sub? If so look for 3 pre outputs. Do you want to use your ipod than get one with ipod integration.

I definitely say find an Alpine in the same price range. Best decks you can buy.

Re: New Car deck?

the only reason i have pioneer is that i already have the XM tuner and ipod cables. otherwise i would have bought alpine for my new double DIN DVD.

Re: New Car deck?

Personally I think Pioneer has some of the best double dinns on the market. I would go with a Pioneer again if it came down to it. Alpine is good too, I would even go with Kenwood before Sony. Avoid Sony at all cost.
