Help with audio system!
Hello everybody,
I'm looking to put a system in my 2001 Civic EX. I would like to know the size speakers i should be buying and recommendations for the speakers. I dont want a crazy sound system that will shake my car and sound like a ricer. I want a nice clear sound system. Suggestions plz

Re: Help with audio system!
the search button is ur friend. please use it. there are plenty of info about this.
as for a short answer:
coupe and sedan use diff speaker sizes.
coupe: front- 6.5 rear-6x9
sedan: front-6.5 rear-6.5
(off the top of my head, correct my if im wrong)
just remember when u get speakers, make sure the dept of the speaker isnt too much because u might not make clearence.
also, make sure u match ur speaker with ur amp so it is not under powered or over powered.
so make sure ur amp is at least/around 75% of ur speaker's capability.
for example:
amp supports up to 75W rms, ur speaker should support 75+ watts of RMS (like 100rms is ideal)
infinity reference series is a good mid range. more output than stock speakers will ever be able to produce. i run infinity KAPPAs which is there higher end. cant go wrong.

If you have the budget, I can't stress enough that you will never achieve a "full" sound in your car without a sub.
It doesn't take much (A pair of 8" or a single 10" is often more than enough), but I don't care what kind of door speakers you buy, they cannot produce those low 20-100Hz frequencies. Ever.
It certainly doesn't need to be vibrating the building across the street, but a little boost at the low end will never hurt.
