no power for audio stereo???
no power for audio stereo???
Hi,
2002 honda civic LX 4 doors My Tape player and radio were working fine, but not now after trying to install cd/radio after market unit.
No power on my OEM tape/radio or the new cd/radio unit.
check all fuses are good.
Put back the original radio/tape unit back = no power.
What is going on here? please please help
Thanks a million

Well my first assumption is that you blew a fuse. You sure they are all good? Check the backup fuse under the hood as well.
Did you use a wiring harness like you're supposed to, or did you try to splice into the existing wiring?

Honestly, I had to same problem last week. I had to back track everything, but i eventually found out what I had done wrong.
Re: no power for audio stereo???
Where is the back up fuse? under the hood in the fuse compartment?
I bought a harness from ebay and use that.
Thanks

Re: no power for audio stereo???
Why would you use an ohmmeter to check voltage? He figured it out anyways it was a fuse but please make sure you use the right terminology if you are gonna give advice. Putting an ohmmeter to check voltage is gonna do nothing but give him the wrong thing he is looking for (there are some very novice people that use this site you have to remember that when you give help).
