installing two amps totaling 140a of current plus big three upgrade ok for stock ?
installing two alpine amps PDX. 4.150 60amps 150 watts x4 and a PDX 1.1000 80amps 100O WATTS MONO plus big three upgrade to 4 gauge, do you guys think the stock charging system could handle this or a extra battery and or cap could do it,both amps together would draw 140 amps at full power,1960watts total power on their best day at 14v

no well for awhile anyway but eventually you will need to upgrade a bigger battery and cap will give you the band-aid effect thats what i have.
Re: installing two amps totaling 140a of current plus big three upgrade ok for stock
This is funny coming from me, because I run a 1Farad capacitor in my car.
A cap is never a solution. It just delays the problem (GO go gadget band-aid effect), unless you're planning to be gentle enough with that stereo that the cap can always keep up.
I run a 760Watt 2-ch amp for the door speakers and a 1250Watt 2-ch amp for my two subs on 4awg wire with a 125A fuse. *do not* exceed 125amps on a 4awg wire, it will burn and take your car with it (Almost happened to me during installation, tried using a 150A fuse). If you're exceeding that amount of current, use 0-1awg wire.
Big 3 upgrade is one of the best things you can do. I have yet to do this in my car
Upgrading to a 500+ cca battery is also nice, you'll save yourself some trouble down the road.
Best of luck
Edit:
After reading my own advice, I'm thinking of running some bigger wire o_O

Thanks for the advice so far i guess you guys mention band aid, is this because of the eld problem where a ho alternator would be useless? please correct me if im wrong

yeah if you use too much power and the alternator cant keep up, the battery will keep draining. its only 70 amp, and thats barely enough to just keep the car running. just turn the volume down occasionally so it has a chance to charge the battery. you can get a bigger battery with more reserve, so it will not drain as fast.
Re: installing two amps totaling 140a of current plus big three upgrade ok for stock
The cap is nice simply because it can give you a little extra battery storage. A high-output alternator won't do anything because of the ELD, you have this correct. So essentially the solution is just, as previously mentioned, don't over-stress the system for any length of time. When you see your headlights starting to dim, turn it down for a while.
That being said, I can get away with listening to my stereo at ~50% volume for half an hour at a time without any trouble whatsoever. Long as you're not an idiot about it you should be fine

well i have a total of 1500 watts in my civic and have done the big three... zero gauge from motor to chassis, zero gauge from battery to body, zero gauge from alt. to battery. then 180 amp alt. and upgraded battery and zero problems..... if you need a drop in alternater i will sell you a brand new teamshadowspl 180-200 amp one for 300 bucks... i have one and it is bullit proof..

yeah unless somethings broken, its gonna be giving out the same 14v as stock. only it will be able to keep up better with higher energy needs (more amps).
