Which Head Unit?
I'm looking to get a new car stereo since my 2001 Lx coupe doesn't have a CD player. I've been looking trying to find a stereo that can complement the red gauges in my car. So I have already ruled out green do the stereo companies make the same models with different colored displays?

Hey i dont know about companies making different colored displays, but I bought a panasonic CQ-DFX701U for my 2k2 civic and it looks great. It has a bright blue dot matrix LCD and looks great with my red gauges. I paid $299 for it and installed it myself, it was easy, look into it.

if you want a red display, i'd go with alpine or fosgate. As much as fosgates decks are well
compared to the rest of there stuff, fosgate currently has the best MP3 decks on the market and you get a built in RF amp, what more could someone want, thats some CLEAN power.

I got the Kenwood KDC-V7017.
It has red or green buttons. And an adjustable main display that looks just like the odometer. And you can adjust the shade from a red to and orangish red. It was the closest deck I could find for our cars.

<< i was very pleased with my JVC cd player! >>
I had a JVC SX-750 in my 92 Accord and was very happy with it. When I sold the car I took the SX-750 out and it's now in my Dad's 98 Accord (he only had a Honda tape deck).
I've just had my '02 Civic LX Sdn (Cdn) for a few weeks now, looking to replace the head unit, either by taking my SX-750 back from my Dad and giving him the Honda CD player that came in my Civic, if this is possible, anyone know? (he doesnt care about sound qualty, just wants to play CDs) Is the factory wiring plug the same on both cars? Also concerned about the funky faceplate around the factory CD deck in my Civic, its not a standard fit by the looks of it... 1) how am I gonna make my new headend fit, do I need some gey bracket? 2) will the deck from the Civic even fit in my Dad's accord as his is a standard sized hole.
The other choice is to let my Dad keep the SX-750 and get the new JVC SX-980 MP3 deck, it looks sweet! I still run into the issue of the bezel though, anyone know about this? (obviously anyone who has replaced the headunit in a 2k1/2 should have encountered this!)
