ahh. Alpine Type R components wont fit.

3/4" mdf still isnt enough to let the speakers fit. I thought about using a double layer of 3/4" mdf so that would make it 1.5". I tested fitting the 1.5" of mdf and the speaker fits. I am only worry about the door panels not fitting back on.

Will this be a problem?

how about 1 inch? they sell those in plastic which is better cause it wont fall apart and rot when it gets wet. also if youre worried about the door panel not fitting, you can shave the plastic ring around the speaker grill on the back of the door panel to gain prolly another 1/2 inch. just use a utility knife and shave off that plastic lip which serves no purpose.
