Re: alarm help 03 civic lx

where are the wires at? i found a large grey harness driver door side under dash and if i unplug it the locks quit working, but when i check those colored wires they dont have any power on them and if i manually ground them nothing happens. i may not be understanding it properly but i think im testing it right i just dont think i have the right harness. thanks for your help.

Re: alarm help 03 civic lx

I double checked the wire color codes and they are correct. I don't know of any 2 sets using the same color (but never say never)

I posted a similar question a while back as I would like to add a lock/unlock switch on the passenger side area. (I can't locate the thread)

Someone mentioned the security connector plug would have those wires. You may try to access the wiring going to the drivers door, for certain they are found there. The manual shows it available at the under dash box fuse box(multiplex) that would be a mass of wiring IMO.

If you find a good location to access them let me know, I still want to add that passenger side switch !!

Re: alarm help 03 civic lx

The lock/unlock switch just provides a ground path for one or the other of those wires.

Make sure of the wire color and then as a test very quickly and briefly provide a ground and see if your locks respond.
