Stereo install gone wrong
Stereo install gone wrong
Yesterday I installed a Pioneer DEH-2000mp receiver in my car the hard way, by splicing wires instead of using a wiring harness. Cause I'm dumb. After I got it all done, the front speakers worked, but not the rear. I told a friend and he told me to just go out a get a wiring harness. Awesome. I did. I installed that and it didn't work. I said forget and reinstalled it the way I had it. Now the stereo doesn't work, the locks don't work and all my gauges have a seizure for about 5-10 seconds every time I turn me car on. What the hell did I do?
Re: Stereo install gone wrong
you could have grounded out something, check your fuses. just my 2 pennies. good luck. Also you should be able to splice a radio in with out issues as long as you got every wire matched with its correct wire it just takes longer that way.
Re: Stereo install gone wrong
Check the fusebox under the hood look for fuse #9. It is a 10 amp fuse. When I blew it last weekend my door locks would unlock but not lock. My gauge cluster acted flaky, and my radio wouldn't power on.
