04 HID retrofit

Can anyone do a custom retrofit for HID projectors in stock 04 headlights? or know of a site? I remember one guy telling me a site but it was really expensive. Is there somewhere else?

Or if anyone know's where to get all the pieces to do it, I'd give it a shot just to play with...

is it possible to plug in hid bulbs that fit the original housing into the projectors? (9006)

Just some starting questions since I'm still clueless in this area.. any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 04 HID retrofit

yeah it sucks, everything goes wrong and you gotta have backup plans if something breaks, looks bad, etc. requires alot of patience. but if you have a spare set of headlights you can ruin, and some projectors (make sure they will fit first), then give it a try. basically the mounting is easy, just drill a hole with a hole saw and mount the projector with screws, the hard part is aiming them. you can setup a station tho inside and use the stock light as comparison, then try to match the hid light to the same position. i got so frustrated at one point, i punched the wall and cracked it a little lol

Re: 04 HID retrofit

It's definitely frustrating trying to do a retrofit in the 04-05 headlights because there's not much room. I attempted it and completely screwed it up-more work than I expected. Trying to get the rotation and adjustments correct is a real pain. I gave up and sent it to customlightz to have them do it. Labor is quite expensive, but you're definitely getting quality work. My headlights look completely stock.

As far as plug and play kits go, you will definitely notice the difference between them and a retro. I had a PNP kit at first and really hated how the light went everywhere. With my 55W TFX retro setup, the beam pattern is wider, more intense, and more even. I light up all four lanes and some on the freeway. PNP do not even compare.

yeah I remember yours buck... i was like WOW pricy but it looked clean. I think im going to find me a pair of stock headlights and start playing around.

what bulbs are you using buck on those retros? what bulbs fit in the tsx projectors? since I see that those are the most commonly used at the moment...

Re: 04 HID retrofit

I'm running the philips 85122+ bulbs. Most projectors use a d2s bulb.
