mohawk, i understand now what you wer saying.....

about only being able to fit a 4 inch component speaker in there. earlier this week, while on holiday I was looking at my stage, trying to plan everything out (I will HOPEFULLY be getting my speakers today, I hope...) I noticed the pitifully small space between the stock kickpanel and the clutch.

you still CAN fit 6.5 in there, with a good stage! I was telling you I had seven inches of space...I do! so does everyone here! the measurement was getting messed up between us due to the location of our kickpanels!

so whats going on? seven inches to the right of teh kickpanel reaches halfway across the clutch pedal! but like i said, anyone who has seen my site has seen my "ghetto kicks" (not worth the time and effort for THOSE speakers >.&lt but that is about seven inches out.

the REASON i have the space and you dont is due to how much farther FORWARD my speaker is. the farther forward you put your kick, the much more space you have. of course, this has its disadvantages, I worry about being too close to my stage, and having my stage sound like it is too low this of course will be experimented with to see if a happy medium can be found.....

of course the farther forward it is the easier it is to see/steal again, we'll see if a happy medium can be found.

the last option is to put the kick in the door. several cars on soundomain have got that going on, looks pretty cool, and THAT sure as hell wont interferre with the clutch

ill post a pic later in teh weekend, or later today if all my plans get f^$&#cked up, But I am now GREATLY curious as to how far I can push back a 6.5 two way component set without clutch interferrence.

yup.. I did say can't fit bigger than 4's and have good staging....

You can fit 8" Midbass drivers at an angle.. but for staging it'd be horrible..Some speakers with great off-axis dispersion might work wit 5.25's or even 6.5's but good luck setting that up
