Rep Power: 205 JDM Engine Start Button
I was just wondering if the JDM DC5 engine access start button kit will fit the 01-05 Civics. Seems stupid to put it in, but I think it's a pretty cool idea.

it's been done before and i've even seen a diy for it! just use the search button next time ok?
this is for a misc. momentary button but it should be very very similar if you can get ahold of a JDM DC5 button.
oh and by the way, you better rep me!

I did check that link out a long time ago. But He did it on an automatic. Plus that wasn't a kit like what I'm talking about. Go to JDMland.com and to the DC5 section/interior and it's in there. What do you mean So.Ill.EM2 by rep you ????

all of these seem to be similar to the one i gave you before. if there is a difference between the setup for the push button start wiring for an automatic as compared to a manual, it sould be very slight. just ask around and i'm sure you can get an answer.
as far as the jdmland DC5, it looks like the same exact button as a s2000. it's probably simpler to follow the steps told in the DIY's. plus you'll save 229 dollars, and you should be slapped if you would pay this much for a push button switch.
good luck, i'll answer any more questions if i can.

he is mainly asking if the connections are plug and play...
if anyone actually saw the button on the site he was showing,it includes all the wires and the wires end in clips. he is asking if the clips go straight into diferent areas to make this work. The other DIYs, you would have to cut up wires and such...

I kow it is. I wouldn't pay that. I just want the s2k engine start button without having to put in the damn key...lol. i understand and would easily do the install but I didn't see anything about not having to put in the key. It sucks if I have to. Then there's no point in having the start button cuz if I'm turning the key to acc, I might as well turn it a bit more and start the car.

if you want to avoid putting the key in, buy a universal transponder bypass kit built for remote start systems. this will take an existing key and simulate its presence around the column. Thus, even your non-chipped key will start the vehicle.
add a solution to hit acc, and you are done.
Has anyone discussed the potential safety hazards involved with eliminating the ignition lock from the car-start sequence? As I recall, the s2000 requires acc to operate pushbutton start...
