I need your expert help here. I just received my infinity Kappa 5.25 components and I will be installing them next weekend. What i was wondering is do you know if i will need to buy spacers for the mids (they didnt come with any)? I am wondering because i'd like to have everything i need BEFORE i rip the door off Also, what mods, if any, will I need to do to get the new Tweet to fit in the factory (01 coupe) location?

Thanks. Anyone else who has installed these specific speakers please chime in too! Thanks a lot peeps

I will be buying the Kappa Speakers. From what I have read from some of the threads here, You have to use a spacers so the window can go down all the way. I think it would look kind of dumb if in the summer time you couldnt roll your windows all the way down, because of the speakers. I had some links to some of the threads, but now I cant find them. I know n00b's hate hearing this but search for Infinity, and that should bring up threads. Good luck.

Thanks bro, though I'm not quite a noob... I did search and all I could come up with were threads about the 6.5 kappas...I'm installing the 5.25. There MUST be a depth difference, wouldn't you think? I just dont want to get my whole door torn apart and then find out I have to run to homedepot or Fry's... So if someone has installed the 5.25 kappa components, please chime in!

thanks

Our front doors are actually designed for oversized 6.5" Speakers..(bigger mounting rings) For the 5.25's you will Definately need to fabricate a spacer, preferably out of MDF.. Plywood will do as well. the spacer will have to be bout 5/8 of an inch thick..(maybe more or less pending the speaker).. the 1" Tweeter can fit in the stock tweeter location if you make the stock 3/4" Hole a little bigger by filing it down..

Cheers
