Hey guys I have the opportunity to get this deck for 200 bucks from a friend. Do you know how strong these decks are and how much abuse they can take? Only reason I ask is because im buying it used.

Is this a good deal and should i get it? Do you have any experience with this head unit?

From what I know its one of the best decks out there for SQ and its pretty expensive brand new.

Pioneer Premier good buy for $200 It's a discontinued model, brand new it was $400+

definitely a good buy for 200.. i have a (non-premier) deh-p8600mp and i got it on my sister's best buy discount for 300 brand new (500 retail) so go for it

i had that as my second deck, bought new $520, it has the best OEL display and most sound options you will ever see. had it for 2 yrs and got rid of it for a cheap alpine, cause the pioneer didnt match my new dash lights lol. it worked great everyday without skipping or overheating. most fun deck you will ever own.

you know it has basic and advanced mode right? if you use advanced youre really gonn go crazy trying to figure out the settings lol. i think its if you have multiple amps tho. even basic has a ton of stuff including fully tunable eq band.

I have had it for a good long while. No problems. hasn't even skipped a cd, unless im going down a bumpy *** road with my suspension set to hard lol. the only thing i wish it has was a usb port lol.

i have it all installed now but the stock location causes the deck to angle up too much. It makes it really hard to read the text and view what your doing unless your looking straight down onto the deck, which isnt practical when your driving. is their any way around this?

can i move my deck down by the cig lighter and just use it like that?

Any suggestions would be great, thanks guys!!

people have done the relocation, i think there was some metal cutting involved. you really cant read it up there? is the brightness turned up?

yeah hear the brightness is cranked. its just the angle at what the deck sits. when you use it folded it out its hard to see. when its folded in its easy to see. ill have to show you a pic to prove what i mean.

^^^ thanks man!! Yeah im going to attempt to do it. just finished cutting the slot for the cage to fit in.
