Double DIN for '05 EX?
Double DIN for '05 EX?
I'm a new DIYer, so I've got a few basic questions.
I measured the dash opening and it is 4" x 7", so enough to fit a Double DIN IVA-W205.
1. Will an 02-05 SI dash kit work? I compared it and the shape seems the same. If not, is there a specific kit it?
2. The W205's manual calls for a metal support strap and bolts, which are not included. Is this at all necessary? If so, where would I get something like this.
3. Is there a way i can use the factory radio bracket to support the unit?
Thanks in advance!

Metra has one. Search the forums and you'll find the part number.
Matter of fact, I'll search for you, since you're obviously too ****ing lazy.

The Metra kit for 01-05 non SI Civics is 99-7865. You need to keep the factory metal bracket to hold the 2x din. Depending on the radio, it will take some manuvering to get the holes lined up. If I can remember correctly, Pioneers line up perfectly. I did have an issue with an Alpine before, but I think I was putting it in a 02 Maxima. Can't remember.

si kit does work, i have it only thanks to best buy for selling it to me and then trying it. sadly i have missed my closing door, but i guess i have removed .2 oz to make my car go faster, but yeah i ended up buying the correct kit, because it stuck out a bit on the bottom and it just annoyed my ocd-ishness
