Is it possible to put the 2002 OEM stereo into the 2000 civic without any modifications? (no wiring harness & mounting bracket)

Well, according to installer.com the harnesses are the same part number for both the radio and the car. As well as the model year. Although I think you'll have more of a problem making it fit physically into the dash rather then having a wiring problem. But of course I cannot actually confirm this because i've never tried to do it. I have a feeling that if you wanted to actually do this, you're probably going to need to trim the 2000 mounting bracket.

Do you have these all for free or something? If you're going to spend money on doing this, I think you should just get an aftermarket unit. It's probably cheaper, and better quality. Also allows you to expand to a subwoofer and amplifer system.

well its just that i got an alpine, and my grandmother has an 2000 civic, with no CD. She wants my old one, a CD player, and it looks (eyeballing it) like it would fit right in (they have the same trim shape)

Well, I know for a fact that the aftermarket mounting bracket is different between the 6th and 7th gen, I used to work in the mobile department at best buy a while back, and at that time, didn't have a mounting bracket for the 7th gen yet, so the installer had to cut down the 6th gen bracket to make it fit. But I guess that could have changed since then. Well, I say give it a shot and see what happens. Worse that could happen, it doesn't fit. Oh well. And if it doesn't fit, then you could always shell out like 40 bucks for a cheap *** cd player and install that in your g-mas car. I don't think she'll be looking for thigh slappin bass or anything unless she's freaky like that. And maybe if you do something nice like that, she'll put you in the will.
