Going to HID

Just a few small questions here - I think I'm going to buy the McCullough (spelling) HID kit for my 05 Civic Sedan. Just a couple questions

1) Should I just buy the HID kit and pop it in, or should I buy aftermarket ballasts/bulbs?

2) I know since it's not a projector, I will still need some kind of bulb. I need to buy bulbs separate from the HID, or do HID kits come with it? If not, what kid of bulb should I go with?

I know I probably should do a projector retrofit, but I am getting ready to buy a bike, so I just want some brighter headlights! Any posts of pics with HID in OEM housings would be fine. I'm just wanting information on the best way to go about this. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Going to HID

I believe there is a thread devoted to HIDs. It contains lots of pictures of peoples HID kits in retrofits and oem housings. Use the search function.

I think I'm going to go with the XTEC 5000k... any ideas on the best place to order them? On xtechid.com they're around $300 shipped. Good price/bad price?
