no sound coming from alarm
i have a compustar alarm w/ remote start. problem is there is no sound so when it's alarming only the lights flash. i really dont want to take it back to the shop because they're always busy so maybe you guys can help me out on this one. alarm works fine just no sound.
Re: no sound coming from alarm
check the wiring going to and from the alarm. if a ground/power wire got disconnected the alarm wont sound. The same thing happened to me, I had a ground wire fall off. Just double check everything.
Re: no sound coming from alarm
this has happened to me before, you probably turned the siren off, for my remote you have to hold I and II for 1/2 second, not sure if that will work on yours since it is a different model

Re: no sound coming from alarm
i had my siren cable snap cause circuit city installed it with the wires stretching out. so i just reconnected it and worked fine.

Read the manual. Make sure you didn't mute it. If not, then continue your trouble shoot. I believe the siren is a positive trigger. I would test for voltage there when you know the siren should be going off. Perhaps check for continuity from the siren to the brain box to make sure the wire is still connected. Make sure to unplug that harness first. Check to make sure the ground for the siren isn't corroded. There's multiple possibilities. You have to stat somewhere!

Re: no sound coming from alarm
is it raining by any chance? lol. that was my first problem and the ground wasnt very good so every rain the siren wouldnt work, then once it dried everythings fine again
Re: no sound coming from alarm
Maybe it's just broke..... j/k... Seriously though, don't get too crazy in the wiring b/c if it's a recent install it probably has a warranty. And if you do take it back, and you have been digging all in the wires, don't tell the shop you messed with it. Make them fix it.
