Coupe Rear speaker install.

Ok I could be a totall nub and most likely am. But whenever i search im only seeing DIYs for sedan rear speaker install. Or is the coupe so easy I could just look at it and it installs itself? Somebody help me. Or direct me in the right path

hey, i kinda figured it out as i went, and yeah nobody will help you because asking questions offends them, but heres what you do:

1.) there are bolts behind the rear seat when the backrests are folded down, unbolt and work the backrests out.

2.)there should be a 10mm bolt securing the seat cushion to the floor, unbolt and remove rear seat cuchion

3.)now unbolt the attatchment for the bottom of the pass. and driv. seatbelts.

4.)remove the panels covering the pillars next to the rear shelf.

5.)now remove the inner panels which are next to the rear seat.

P.S: when removing panels, look for anything obvious, but for the most part they just pull off with decent force.

6.)now observe the seatbelts running through the rear shelf, slide them out of their slots.

7.) pull up on the rear shelf and pull out

8.)thats about it,

oh, and FYI please use dynamat, the rear shelf loves rattling the rear windsheild.
-I hope this helps

and also consider the mounting depth of the rear 6x9. a too thick of an magnet wont fit and will interfer with the trunk torsion bar. i run a pair of jbl gto 939 6x9's in the back of my coupe if it helps. it barely fits and is 1-2mm away from touching the torsion bar.

on the side panels (witwh the arm rests) there's screws in there you have to remove first, and 3M tape on the part that goes into the door jam so you gotta give it some effort.

i can do this in 5 min now

I put a layer of dynomat on my rear deck and it still rattles, but in the summer I almost never hear it, just the winter rattles bring it out

I have eclipse 6x9 4-ways and they just barely fit too, like 3-5mm of space.

is it necessary to use dynomat when installing the stock pioneer speakers as well? I need to reinstall the stocks back.

You only need the dynomat if you have subs really. Thats the reason why mine rattles.

I think the rattle comes more from the rear deck hitting the window. so im thinking maybe there is some way to seal that without it looking like ****
maybe some weather stripping. idk im probly gunna experiment by jamming a towel in that area and see if it stops it. If it does maybe ill put some weather stripping in there.

Also whats everybodies ideas on 6*9s I know I need to replace em but im not sure what to get. I have a 90*4 at 2 ohms 60*4 at 4 ohms AMP. and Kicker KS6.2s in the front. Factory headunit, Before you yell at me about that Im gunna replace it in march after the speakers. Im doing the speakers first cause there gunna blow cause of to much power. I wont be able to put a sub in my car untill about june or july. So Im looking for some 6*9s that have some good bass to em. Im not to concerned about the highs cause the Tweeters on the Kickers are really powerfull and clean. (Great speakers I recommend them to anyone) Here are the speakers I am considering

JBL Grand Touring Series GTO927 6''x9'' 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

Infinity Kappa 692.7i 6''x9'' 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

Buy the Kicker 6" x 9" 3-way Speakers (055KS693) and other Car Speakers at circuitcity.com

Buy the Polk 6" x 9" Speakers (DB690) and other Car Speakers at circuitcity.com

Buy the Eclipse 6" x 9" 4-Way Coaxial Speakers (SE8495) and other Car Speakers at circuitcity.com

And here is the AMP I have.

Buy the Kicker 4-Channel Amplifier (06ZX3504) and other Car Amplifiers at circuitcity.com

I really appriciate any help guys. I listen to mostly the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. And they have alot of mid range stuff, so I would like really nice rear speakers.
