On/Off switch for AMP

I'm not too knowledgeable (sp?) on car stereo, so yeah...deal with me....

I have an MTX amp hooked up to a Polk 12 inch sub... The thing hits hard and with some songs, I just don't want the bass. Now, I have the sub hooked up to my stock head unit, so obviously there isn't a feature to kill the amp on the head unit... is there a way I can put a switch up front to controll the amp being on and off?

That's exactly what I did, its really easy to do. just find a nice spot for your switch. BTW, a switch adds 20 hp
