, Guy.... YOU WERE RIGHT!!! You knew exactly what you were talking about!! Anyways... Im glad you got your **** working, it was my pleasure to help out. Well.... you and the other guy had 2 completely different problems, i had the same problem as he did, next time read everybodys replys and know what your talking about before you make a fool out of yourself.
well, sounds like you got your answer. reason i asked it some 96-98 civics lose some of their lighting when a new deck is installed. reason is the illumination circuit goes though the radio. not all of them, but the ones with 2 harnesses on the factory radio
Fist of all i didn't make a fool of myself, i was just trying to help the guy thinking the same thing had happened to him.
This same situation happened to me when i installed my kenwood deck. For the lights, check the fuses and for the illumination lights; well your gonna have to get a new cluster cuz it controls the illumination lights. I figured that out when i took my car to honda to get it checked. it cost me $100 for them to tell me that my cluster lights which also controls the illumination was busted. The speedometer and all the other meters still work, but you wont have any illumination at night.
Yes they are working, AND PROBLEM IS SOLVED!!!!!!!!!
and yes, no cluster is required, thank god! but thanks for trying to help anyway.
To everyone that's helped, THANKS!!!!!! rep to everyone of you!
7thgencivic ROCKS!
P.S. it is the orange wires that's the culprit, I separated the two with individual caps and electric taped them up the a** to prevent short, and did the same thing with the remote wire too, eventho it didn't seem to be the problem, but just to play it safe.
