Rep Power: 0 Clarion v. Pioneer
Hey. I'm trying to decide which head unit i should get. I'm trying to decide between a Clarion(715/725) or a Pioneer. I had a clarion 5 series in my probe and loved it!! But i've heard some good things from my friends that have Pioneer decks. Just wondering what you thought. Thanks

Rep Power: 0 I kind of depends on which Pioneer yor are talking about. Not ALL clarions are better than ALL Pionners and not all Pioneers are better than all Clarions. I have a Pioneer AVX-P7000CD, (7" flip out screen) and I love it. Personally I have always been an Alpine person until I got my Pioneer, I love it and have had no problems. That another +1 for pioneer!

Rep Power: 0 Well the Pioneer 7300 (same pric range) has more features and a prettier dispaly than the Clarion... However the Pioneer has a cheap 1 bit d/a Converter and high impedance RCA outputs (not looking too great in the sound quality department... The Clarion is more functional in design and appearance, has a single 24 bit d/a Converter (can process more music faster thus getting clearer more dynamic sound).. and has much lower impedance outputs (Cleaner signal, less susceptible to noise higher s/n Noise ratio) and has True 4 volt RMS pre-outs.. Pioneer has 4 volt Pre-outs..which when tested put out 5 volts peak and 2.8Volts RMS..
So if you want more features and a prett Display go Pioneer,
If you want a more funcional design with better sound properties. go Clarion...
If you want something between the 2...the happy median between both.. get an Alpine .
