it depends on what brand you get... Evidently Pioneers and Kenwoods aren't so bad. But my Sony is terrible. I wanted the Active Black Panel model initially, but then discovered it would be useless during the day.

<< mine is fine, but i have a weird install, i think. click the link in my sig to see what it looks like >>
interesting, a guy up near new yourk has the same idea. actually, he had a really neat idea. he sliced off his old faceplate, then glued the buttons back on. with his deck recessed so far back, he could take off his faceplate, pop that on, and presto! looked bone stock
i had to throw mine down here tho =/

I bought mine for $500 CAD off a dealer at a competion.. he was Pissed that it skipped during an SPL run,,, dude was hitting 161 DB's and had it mounted in his dash...
I Offered him $500 for it.. He handed it to me on the spot..lol and handed me the warranty papers and the receipt.. I don't have the remot though.. but personally I find remote controlls in cars about as useful as 9 foot wings on Toyota Tercells..
Cheers

yeah, but if you drive like a ricer, then your seat is all the way back, leaning even farther back, with your arm fully extended its like 2 feet to the dash LOL ! but its nice in the center console, i admit.
now, i was debating this with my friends, and they said they saw no reason to give the remote to the guy in the back seat, giving him control of the sound in the vehicle......... then it hit us. what if we ARE the guy in the back seat?
