Speaker Harness, is it necessary??
Speaker Harness, is it necessary??
Hi All,
I'm debating whether I should cut the factory speaker connector and crimp onto the aftermarket speaker wire for speaker connection, or, get one of these harness and not worry about cutting any factory stuffs? Any suggestions?
I'm wondering do they fit with the factory speaker connector of a 05 Civic sedan?
Thanks

get them def do when i did my install on my friends car i did that spliced and then 2 weeks later the damn thing wasnt working it took me an hour to figure out it was just being grounded and not allowing my speakers to work. if u do it wrap that thing like crazy so u wont have to take off the door panels....so just use the speaker harness
Thanks for all the good info guys! The harness is already ordered.
If any of you ever want to order these for your own or a friend's car they are from crutchfield for about $12.99+6.99shipping. And crutchfield will include a mastersheet free that shows very clear instructions on how to remove your door panels and stock head unit out. I've used it before and found it very useful. Thought these may be helpful info to first time DIYer, as the mastersheet will save you tons of research time and doubts on how to take your door and dash apart properly.

taking of the door panels are easy theres 5 screws then pull hard but be carefull u may break clips. theres a DIY somewhere here.....after taking them off gets easier everytime i do them i had to replace speakers 3 times old pioneers, alpine type Rs now infinitys <33
