Help with a trunk problem.

Hello,

I just got a CIVIC DX 2003 and of course installed a nice sound system in there with a subwoofer. The problem is, my trunk doesn't seem to like it. It literally wants to fall apart... And it doesn't make a nice sound, it's acceptable inside the car, but outside it really makes an awful sound.

I can assure you that it is not the license plate shaking, but the zone behind the plate. I've tried to remove just the license plate and it was still the same weird sound.

I don't know if you guys have some solutions for that problem.

if you lower the mount that the trunk latch latches too it can solve your problem maybe. Look in your trunk right at the edge and you will see a Metal "hook" looking thing that the trunk lid latches to, remove the bolts and slide it down a lil bit and then tighten it back up and test to see if the trunk closes, if not move it back up a lil bit.

Sound deadener is your friend here. Tighten the latch as described then sound deaden the entire trunk. You definitely want to hit the entire vertical area i the back where the tag is attached and the part of the trunk below that.

Time to replace them with shocks. Easy to do and much nicer.

Bro, Same thing happened to my car, I put 2x 12" sub infinity subs with 1800 amp,When I put it to sound to level 15, my trunk rattles same with the car at my side but it sounds terrible.Anyway I put Dynamat on all the hole in my truck, I cut it and all that that hook to close the trunk. That hole is the main one, Put dynamat or something to cover it.the rattles will go away. If you cant understand my english which I suck so bad, PM me and I will post the pic for you man. later
