car stereo installation kit

first off sorry if this is a repeat. but i searched the archives and found nothing.. just got a deck for my car and want to order a installation kit online. i dont want to lose the little slot for cd's or whatever..this SCOSCHE one is the only one i could find online... and it got a bad review, so i figured theres gotta be something better out there.
i was wondering if there were any other kits and websites i can order from.\
thanks

there are several people on this site with the Scosche kit and they are very pleased with it. I think there is another one by Metra or Metro or something like that.

If you check out the tech forum we are discussing this very thing right now. Metra has two versions of a kit...One is just a trim ring so you can keep the factory pocket, or they have a kit that replaces the whole thing, pocket and all.

I ordered the Metra kit. I tried to get it in, but it just didnt fit right. Now with the kit i used it, Its made by a company called Best. My HU fits perfect. And with the open hole, I use that space more often than with the door. I would say go with the Schose, or the one I used called Best. I picked it up at Best Buy.

Order the kit from www.partsexpress.com

IT is colored perfectly to match the dark/glittery dash and it is only a ring and support around the HU leaving the factory pocket with door. A very sweet kit. Not sure who made it though, but who cares. it was $10 and tight as hell.

cheers

i got the metra from a local car audio place and my head unit is set back into the dash by about an inch because that was the only way it was possible to install it, but its not a problem for me, plus i was able to actually put 2 screws into the head unit through the factory mounting holes, so my head unit would be quite hard for a theif to rip out, the only way to get it out is to take the center console out and get behing the power outlet and take out the 2 screws holding the section of the dash with the head unit in, and then pop that piece out and unscrew the head unit. grabbing and pulling would be impossible since its set in, you wouldnt be able to get ahold of it (and if you did the screws would hold it and the screws in the bottom of the trim piece would keep that whole piece in too

Metra makes 2 kits for our cars.. one that is just the trim ring, and one that is The ring and the pocket. American international makes one for out cars as well .. it is the full one piece kit..
