Is there a difference between these two headunits. I'm new to this audio stuff and getting confused..

one thing about the premier, is that it will have more preout voltage, and maybe a few other things.

the only difference is one is regular pioneer, other is premier. premier usually has a couple extras like higher preout voltage for cleaner signal and maybe different color. but otherwise its the same.

They're pretty much the same. When I bought my Pioneer back in the day, they were out of the Pioneer one, so they sent me the Premier equivalent, I doubt there's too much different at all.

I see...So this Eclipse with 5 volts would give me a clearer sound than the Pioneer then? I'm trying to decide between these two units.

it depends on your hardware. i actually went from 6v to 2v and the 2v sounds better with the amp i have. sometimes more volts is just waste.

What if I didn't have a amp cause I won't have a sub? I'm still debating on it though, because I ski and need space for business supplies and stuff. I'm gettin the new headunit and replacing all the speakers in my car. If I did get a sub and amp it probably wouldn't be before Christmas.
