i currently havea i've seen a few cars driving around with LCD screens that come out of the head unit. i'm not sure how to describe it, but the screen is not built into the dash. if anyone knows of a good unit along the lines of what i'm describing please post a link, or just let me know price/name. thanks to all who help.

http://www.crutchfield.com has a bunch. The Alpine IVA-D310 is supposed to be pretty nice. I have the IVA-D900 which is a similar model and I'm very happy with it.

ouch, those put a dent in the wallet. i didnt think they would be that expensive, like 500 or 600 lol. hmmm... have any recommendations for head units that are a little more exciting than just showing the name of the song being played, but dont cost over... 600 lets say?

i work at best buy in the mobile audio dept.....i would go with that too a lot of people come in and ask for it. then they see the price and walk away....but 1 guy got it

heh, yeah i really like it but it's just not worth the money imho. i have a decent pioneer 50wx4 headunit atm, and i was just hoping to get something a little more noticable and maybe something that is a little more fun for me to play around with. driving an automatic gets boring . but yeah, i would rather spend that extra money on something else like shocks/springs, or just say screw it buy an old 1970 chevy nova and have some fun =P.

Dual XDVD8180. It's worked out pretty well so far. It has touchscreen and all those goodies. Good enough for my liking. Haven't had any problems with it, but got the 4 year warranty on it just incase.
