I have a few ideas for my I.C.E. but I need to know from expierenced 7thgeners a few things to make sure it is possible with current cunsumer electronics.

I need a LCD screen that will fit in the area where the stock head unit and bin reside in the dash. I've seen the members here with the custom LCD displays that take up most of the dash area and have to move the A/C controls. Those are too big for my tastes, I'd like one that fits in the "hole" I will be left with when I remove the head unit and bin with.

edit: It is going to be used for GPS display, nothing too fancy.

That may be an option.
I was hoping to go with something a little more clean looking. But I'm not sure what is available. I may upgrade in the future to a full PC/console is why I wanted a LCD display.

You can still upgrade to a carputer with a double din. My kenwood indash was running the HKS CAMP unti which is just like a computer LOL

I loved it!! I just purchased a touch screen valordvd/cd/mp3/sd/divx/xvid etc.... but I think i might sell it to get that damn kenwood brad had.....im almost aroused thinking about it

Don't forget, if you get a unit like Alpine, etc, you won't be able to hook up a carPC to it like you would a regular touch screen. No other brand allows you to control the touch screen from the PC like a regular touch screen does. It could display your PC via the video in, but you would need to use a mouse/trackball/remote control to control the screen.
