how are you handling them when you install them? Any body oils will create a hotspot in the glass and that leads to failure.

silverstars burn out easily. I stopped using them after my first pair. One light blew out in like 4 months, so I figured, screw that. I went back to OEM and have never looked back. OEM bulbs are still working like a charm.

If you want brighter lights, go HID, don't bother with just bulbs.

I'm still debating whether I want HID's myself or not.

oh silverstar is overdriven and coated, so it will only last a few months. just try clear bulb, if it blows fast, you might need that new switch. i gota recall in the mail about that.

Yes silverstar is overdriven, and in exchange for the more light output, its inherent design is to burn out much faster than ordinary bulbs for the same application. I work for sylvania (not the automotive branch), and this was in the newsletter a while back.

there are other overdriven bulbs, like osram silverstar, philips vision plus, but they are clear and last longer (but not nearly as long as regular bulbs).

I also had gone through 2 sets of silverstars, never figured our why. Went back to old bulbs no problems! Just go back to stock see how that works, if you still have problems test the wires, might be over charging, might have a bad load sensor!!

Back when i used piaa bulbs in my older civic, i went through about 2-4 sets a year. I heard its from the fact that they run at a higher wattage or some crap. Don't know, don't care. All i know is i've been using my oem bulbs for 108k (3 years) and i've saved a lot of money by not having to replace them all the time.

stock bulbs last longest and are medium brightness. coated bulb lasts shortest and is the dimmest. overdrive +50 bulbs (clear) are brightest but dont last as long as stock.
