Viper or Python Car Alarm Remote

Anyone know if I can just use a Python 2 way remote and program it for a Viper 2 way alarm system?
The remotes look exactly the same from the outside, and they are the same company, right?

The only thing is that Python remotes seems to be less $$

well even some of the two way remotes wont even work with eachother. there is a cross reference list somewhere where you can double check what alarms fit with what remotes.

yeah python is lower end right?
so it would probably be more reliable to have a viper
i guess it's not just the name for viper
i thought I was just going to be paying for the name

Kyle23 should not be trustedKyle23 should not be trusted
the only thing that can be different in the systems is the range/features available b/c of the brain.

All a 2 way system is a bunch of wires so idk how Python could be "lower end"

If the two 2 ways have about the same features then they should be able to be "cross programed" in a sense... for the most part anyway

ive got a python alarm system and still workin great after about 4 months i believe? no problems at all except for the lack of batteries..i think python is like the sister company of viper basically they are the remakers or something like how it is with graphics card...where they have radeon then they have saphire which is another company that puts their own settings on the same graphics card as radeon(sorry if i lost u). thats my only guess

yeah I get you
i actually bought a saphire radeon card because it was cheaper than a 'regular' ati radeon

so i'll get a replacement python remote if it's cheaper, if not, I'll just get another viper one

sapphire is supposed to be better configed than the regular ati radeon ones but anyways bak to the topic...u can always call up to see if it works or go on vipers/pythons site. they should have a compatiblity sheet or something.

yeah, there should be a compatibility sheet online.

just because its a lower one, or made by the same company doesnt mean itll work. heck, i accidently tried getting a different 2 way clifford alarm and it didnt work with mine.

the interesting thing is, I found a Python 2-way remote on ebay that was cheaper than the Viper ones
BUT, on DEI's website, the Python one is almost $100 more

who wants to spend $249.99 on a remote

but its not even 249.. you can go to best buy and get one for like 150 or something.

if worst comes to worst.. you could always just swap your broken remote out for a good one. just find a place that sells the same alarm.. and then do some magic. and return it.
