lost power to HU

ok i already searched and went thru about 9 pages of useless links so dont get on my about that. i got a new unit and had troubl with it but i think i know the solution to it now thanks to some helpful people on these boards. now my problem is when i pulled the headunit out after it wouldnt have sound it wont power back up, nor will my stock unit. i checked the radio fuse, as well as every other fuse under the steering wheel and under the hood fuse box too, i canged the radio fuse just to be safe even tho it looked fine. and it still wont power on.i cut the power and ground wire(on the radio harness) so i could get check if they had power with the voltmeter and they did NOT. could this still be a fuse?

i also noticed whe i turn my key my temp gauge clicks at the bottom peg when i turn the key to two (power but no motor). could these be connected? is there a fuse i should check that could solve both? im not to worried about the temp gague, it works fine once the car is on.

thanks for any input. i need to get all this fixed asap

i fixed it, somehow i lost power between the fuse, and he harness that leaves the fusebox under the dash. my solution, run a new power wire from my amp which had a hot wire in it. i quickly decided this was a bad idea and decided instead to run it from the 12v fuse for the amp so that it was safer. works like a charm
