Sail panel tweeter installation/removal

Hi everyone,

I have a 2000 Civic EX Coupe and I would like to install a pair of Polk 650 components. Problem is that I'm not too sure how to remove the sail panels, which have a factory housing for the factory tweeters.

Has anyone had experience in installing tweeters into this kind of factory housing?

Thanks, great to be a part of this community.

Thanks Gearbox!

I've gathered that you just pull them down, release a clip inside, and then they come off. Is there any other more detailed info out there? I'm going to attempt it this weekend but I don't want to break them.

Thanks.

I've done it. Be careful not to break anything. I wouldn't just pull on it, but I wiggled it out and it came off ez.

Yeah seriously just grab on and rip it out. the thing is strong. The clip might come off but its really a simple design and will go back on easily.
