Opinions on this Amplifier.

Sony ES XM-7547

this is what my amp looks like and here is the specs on it.

75W x 4 @ 4ohms, 20-20kHz, @ 0.04% THD (14.4 volts)
150Wx4, @2ohms (14.4Volts)
300Wx2 @4ohms, 20-20kHz ( 14.4Volts)
Non Negative Feedback Design
High Current MOSFET output stage
0.5 Ohms Drive Capability
MOSFET Switching Power supply
Dual Mode Mono/Stereo
50-4Khz lo-pass filter
50-4khz hi-pass filter
0-10dB Low Boost (40Hz)

I would like to hear some opinions on this amplifier. I bought it for 249.00 and just making sure I got a good deal. It sounds awesome and I have no complaints except that it is a freaking huge amp, its about 20 inches long and about 12 inches wide. I am using it to power my front and rear speakers as well as my tweeters.

Aye tis a fine amp.. The ES line up of amps is pretty good stuff.. I'll spare commentary on the Xplod stuff tho...Yeah thems is a bif amp.. because it's a High current amp that's actually stable down to .5ohms stereo..But it gets MIGHTY Hot..and won't take it for too Long.. My Friend has that amp running a Pair of 15" Boston Rally subs at 2ohm mono..Amp doesn't seem to mind..

Cheers

sony = crap ive been shat on by sony for the last time. Even their ES subs sound like ........ not to mention their looks (:moon hell no stay away from sony.

their amps also have a tenency to overheat (in my experience) not just get hot over long times, i mena, hot enuough to cook an egg on in five to fifteen minutes...

HCCA is competition quality amp, and is .5 ohms stable stereo, I wouldnt be surprised if it was .5 ohm stabe mono as well.........

funny, why does HCCA make SQ competition cheater amps, SQ quality component speakers, and subs that sound like but will win you SPL competition trophies? I wanted this amp when I first saw it in the Crutchfield catalog, but of course it listed for about a MILLION dollars at that time

What speakers do you have it hooked up to?

Pioneer 6.5 in the front and pioneer 6x9 in the rear and Kenwood tweets in the front. Sounds so clear and clean.

All I see people do is rip on Sony car audio...I don't know what's up with that...or maybe I'm always gettin the good product...everything I've used of theirs has been good quality...I've had two of their amps...and they don't overheat...are clear sounding...and are decently priced...

Some of u disagree...I'm just stating my belief is of the contrary

I've always preferred using a seperate amp for my Subs and my other 4 speakers. If you are looking for a good sub amp I recommend the Directed 600D. Its a class D Mono Amp that's rated at 600Watts RMS (not peak like most companies rate their amps) and its advertised to 1ohm stable, although I have ran it a .5ohm. It did get hot after continous pounding and would shut off after a while. Its a hard hitting amp and you can usually pick it up for $300 +/-. I've had one for almost 2 years and I love it.
