Finally finished my install!! HOORAY!!
Got my install done today... mad props to Diskreet for all of his help, and all the others who helped me with advice(drew22mader, 05reverb, manthatguysfast, and more!). It sounds absolutely amazing.. This is just a hobby for me (I dont compete)...but I would say it is almost IASCA quality...well, on a budget anyway..
here are the specs:
new 3/4 mdf floor made using diskreet's DIY guide
Eclipse 5440 Headunit
Infinity 6012si 6.5's all the way around
Hifonics Titan TX4405 4 channel amp
Hifonics Brutus BX 605 Monoblock amp
12" Alpine Type -R DVC (Dual 2 ohm..wired to 1 ohm) Subwoofer
1.25 cubic foot ported enclosure (tuned to roughly 34hz)
4 gauge power/ground through Stinger dual distribution block
Stinger Hyper Series RCA's from HU
Phoenix Gold RCA's from line out of Titan to line in on Brutus
Amp wall made of 3/4 mdf covered in black vinyl and holes drilled to hide wires.

how many times do you really need to access your spare tire?
anyways, the terminals on the sub box are the push kind (forget the term)..so I can still get to the spare in under 30 seconds.

it's black vinyl...I used it because I couldnt find a place that would sell me carpet unless I bought 3 yards and I didnt want to mess with carpet after doing the trunk floor... also, Vinyl is pimp

i say put the amps on the backseat and put the sub box in the back so you can open the door, but it's your car, do what you want. also, is the volume in that box right for that sub? That's a pre-made box from Fry's Electronics(I used to have one), another thing you might want to do to make it sound better is put fiberglass insulation on the inside of the box.
well..considering I am a hobbyist.. I did not want to go through building my own box... this one is the perfect ported volume for the type r sub..they recommend 1.0-1.5cu feet..this one is 1.25... I got it on clearance for $40 at a local car audio place..and it can be converted to a sealed enclosure also... the whole sub on the door thing doesnt even phase me... I have owned the car for 2 years and only had to use the spare once.

Wow, You be []D [] []\/[] []D [] []\[] - Good work
The previous owners of my car had already installed a sub, so all I need is to get an amp +Woofer and I'd be Good to go

Looks really good. The only thing I'm not feeling is the board that's holding the amps. You should have carpeted the board on the back so it matches the rest of the trunk area. Otherwise, setup looks good.
Love the eclipse deck.
just mount the box down the same way you did you board.
