alpine deck and amp, infinity speakers. good low end stuff that sounds like expensive stuff. stay away from chain install stores and do it yourself. they overcharge and do a crap job.
A couple of questions first,
what are you looking to get out your system? something better than stock with some added bass?
are you willing to install everything yourself?
are you willing to purchase stuff on line or do you want to go to a store and buy it?

Stupid, dumb bastards ended up lossing about couple of grand, loyal customer and gettin even worse reputation, on this situation. As it is they getting sued almost in every state nowdays, that's a fact. They just had a lawsuit where I live. Still, that was really truly terrible experience that I wouldn't wanna go trough ever again and wouldn't wish it to my worse enemy. If I could go back in time I wouldn't gone in that place.
So to all of You kids out there: "Stay away from Best Buy !!!"
yes, stay away from bestbuy. my buddy bought an entire setup (2 12" alpine type-rs, rockford P4004, rockford p8002) for $2000 installed and bestbuy wired his system wrong and ended up destroying the amp. it took them a month+ to refurb the rockford amp and it still didnt work. after many months of getting the issue solved, bestbuy was giving him the runaround everytime he went back. i felt bad for the guy so i reinstalled his sytem for him and now everythings working.
fattshaft, i recommend buying the equipment online. www.cardomain.com is a very legit site and thats where i order my subs, amps, accesories. flawless transactions and prices. on top of that, they warranty it AND its below retail pricing. first off, what exactly are you looking for from this new stereo system?

Before you spend all that money. I suggest you do your own research on speaker brands, decks, amps, and subs. That's if your looking for all that.
Just like James77 said. What are you looking for in a system?? bass?? SQ?? All the above??
I wanted a good system, I mean nothing crazy. Right now I got a deck, one 12" sub, mono block amp, stock rear speakers, cheap a$$ 30 JVC speakers in the front. Most of you would be amazed how well this sounds for what I have. I suggest you figure out what you want before you go spend all that money.
If your willing to learn and read up on installs, that'll save you a lot of money. There are several DIY on this board, including the one for the deck. $1700 is a lot of money. Basic installs are very easy.
btw, whats including in this package for $1700???
hey guys... well i went with the package before any of you wrote back. right now i have two 10" JBL GTO subs in the back, with a 600w JBL GTO amp as well. they replaced the stock speakers (all 4) with JBL GTO speakers. right now it sounds amazing... i mean amazing, but the trunk rattles pretty bad (hear it only on the outside)... anyone got any ideas on how to fix it. i couldn't afford the alpine deck like everyone suggested, so i opted for a pioneer...(good choice or bad one) its the DEH-P7700MP. help me out guys... thanks
