I would've glassed it into where the cup holders are because I almost never had drinks in my car, but that looks pretty good regardless.

How long did it take you?

you know, i was thinkin of doing something similar to that for my phone (cause it's so friggin' fat), but not to that degree. just thinking of something small on the dash i can clip it to, but just 2 days ago i bought a new, even BIGGER phone. hopefully you wont buy a bigger/smaller iPod anytime soon, haha

That's a great job, man! You deserve a +1 for that. I love how it just sits there, virtually seamless, as if it's a part of the car itself. Truly, that's a hell of a job. I, too, would like to know how long it took you. Also, was this one of your first attempts or have you had practice? Hope to see more from you!

At first, I was thinking the same thing. However, once I thought it through, I realized that it would be a perfect setup if his HU was capable of controlling an iPod through the system itself, instead of hooking up the iPod and trying to run the music directly from it (laaaaaaaaaag). The only thing I might have done differently would have been to turn it upside down, so that the viewscreen was protected. All that would've been needed would be some felt or thin rubber on the bottom of the hole, with the measurements compensating for that extra thickness. Only bad side would be that the silver might reflect some sunlight or catch the unwanted attention of others (although I can't see anyone leaving their iPod alone when they're away from the vehicle). And, of course, it would only work if the sound sytem was capable of playing it from the HU...

Again, great job! Give us more!

Actually I can control my ipod through the CD Player. Its an Eclipse 3434 HU and it works great. I thought about putting it in the cup holder but it would be too far away for me. I set back quite a bit so I like it where it is. Thank you for the compliments though. I already have some plans for the future so I'm actually thinking of selling it now. How much do you think it would fetch? Also, i may sell my ipod. Its a 60gig loaded with over 5,000 songs, how much do you think that might fetch?

Again, thanks for the comments!

So your HU charges the iPod, as well as letting you control it?
