speaker fit

Hey y'all. My friend is offering me a set of 6x9s (kenwood kdc-6900- or something like that) for my '03 coupe. Only problem is, I don't know if they'll fit . I checked the good ol' boys at crutchfield and they only list like 4 sets of 6x9s that'll fit. While Infinity Kappas are nice, $20 to my friend is better than $200.
Is there anywhere a comprehensive guide of speakers that are known to fit in the 01-04 coupe?
Thanks
Jeff

they'll fit, the only questionable thing is if the magnet will hit the tension rods on the trunk

you can measure, put the seats down with the trunk closed, measure the distance between the bottom of the deck and the bars, then try and measure the thinkness (if you can) of the deck itself, if not guesstimate....then compare that with the new 6x9s depth, the should fit without much trouble (putting them in is a BITCH though) unless they're insanely deep

yea, look in the trunk on the underside of the deck, you'll see to bars that looks like an x, thats hondas cheap excuse for the spings that open the trunk...speakers hit that it can be anywhere from rattling to the trunk not being able to open\close

I had the same problem installing my rear speakers. You need to get speakers with the neodyium magnets because those are smaller and lighter magnets. Those magnets will clear the trunk tensioner. By the way kenwood speakers do suck, go with the infiniti kappas or boston acoustics.

There's a DIY to remove those springs and install gas shocks. I have Kappas. And I like them.

Kenwood does not suck. If anything they offer solid performance at the mid-level price range. Kappas will sound a wee bit better..but even that, it all depends on your source - headunit. I have kenwoods all around, and the sound is amazing, why? My deck, sound deadenin..and a quality amp. Sub wise though..I am not going the kenwood.

Go with Boston Acoustics - the NX series uses neodynium magnets and makes it a NON issue.
