competition cheater amp??
ok does anyone have a good sugestion on the most powerful cheater amp. i don't compete much but when they come through town i want to have over 1500 watts but stay in the lower watt class. thats with 1 amp. any sugestions. so far i only have looked at matts with there high current amps. they r like 1200 watts and they are in like the 50 watt class. i know i can hit 150 if i can get enough power....

The Orion and Zapco are "cheater" amps but are competition legal for the moment. They are called cheater amps because they put out low power ex 50Wrmsx2 at 4 ohm. However they can be bridged down to 1 ohm and put out over 1000Wrms...they are current;y DB Drag legal..However there are alot of people trying to get these amps banned in the street class. I Included.

well 2 power 15's with alot of power. my lil hx2 hit 143 so i think 2 power series with some good juice might get up there. maybe anyways whats the power rating on those amps?? and no its not cheating it just makes it fair because everyone else uses them. but if they get banned than thats fine i'll still be matched fairly. i just got stuck last time with my earthquake amp rated at 2000 on the books in the high watt class. but then my buddy had matts amps and he was in like 151 and under. so its not cheating just kinda technical.
how bout an earthquake d2 shredder? is that considered a cheater amp? those put about 2000 watts. it accepts 0 gauge wiring so it can draw the amps its gonna need. rock solid amp too i must say. go to www.carsound.com and search the forum. tons of info on that amp.

just an amp that is a low wattage to 2 chanels like 25x2 or 50x2 but when you bridge mono its over 1000. so when you pick your watt class you can be in a low watt class cause they go by 4 ohm stereo load which would be like 50 or 100 when you really have 1000 or more. kinda shi tty but alot of guys do it.

Bake.. 150 is pretty much Impossible in our cars without ALOT of sound deadening work. a HUGE enclosure..a big Port.. and Alotta Power. Just going by displacement of the subs. With about 7-8 cu.ft enclosure..tuned to 41hz. with 1300Wrms still no breaking 150 on paper. Add alotta sound deadening.. 2 extra batteries and a High Output alternator and I'll see it happening.. If you get a cheater amp remember that they draw MASSIVE amounts of current....There's alotta work to go into things.
Good luck.
