advice required some xperienced people
heyy. ok, heres the deal. im buyin some low end equipment cuz i wanna lil xtra bump but nothing Xtreme. headunit, 2 sub boxes with tweeters in them, an amp and im a wire it all up. heres where i need help. i am putting the subs in the back, and the headunit is in the front. obviously i need to wire them together. i have a 2004 honda civic EX coupe. like any sane person, i want a clean and hidden wire job. no wires stickin out n gettin in the way. i dont know how to go through the rear seats and under the carpet up to the front. i would very much prefer to keep things intact. cutting my carpet up and drilling a bunch of holes isnt the ideal way. im willing to do it if necessary, but im hoping someone who is quite wise in the ways of these things has some good tips on how to make things go down nice and easy. if im full of crap and theres no way to do it without the cuttin n drillin, crap. still, tips on how to cut n drill in the most effective way are welcome as well. thanks guys (i kno its long, sorry)

theres a gazillion amp diys floating around. Invest in a panel popper and go to town. Most of the way youll be able to tuck the cables under the interior panels without removing them
a sub box with tweeters in it is generally crap. High frequency sound is very directional and it won't pass through your seats. At least not enough to make any kind of difference. And 2 subs isn't REALLY necessary with the factory system. A single 10 or 12 would do great for you. Look for JL W1V2 subs, great bang for the buck, and alpine has nice inexpensive mono amps that would make one sound good. There is no drilling or cutting necessary, just a little dissasembly. Like dude said, there's a bunch of DIYs on it.

i agree with mr doe... how do you plan on hearing a tweeter form the trunk?
what are you paying for all this, I guarantee you that myself or someone else on this forum could come up with a cheap setup that would do just as well for the same, if not just slightly more that would horrendously outperform that...

also, does anyone have a link to a good diy amp wiring? i appreciate your advice, so i am abandoning those shitty subs...i tihnk im going to get a decent 12 inch sub and a good amp, and wire them to my headunit. maybe a little later ill get new speakers for the rear deck or the doors. so what i really need is a good wiring diy. thanks
alright, i went to the local best buy and heres what i found out:
2 pioneer 12inch subs, 150 watts
1 dual sub box
1 kenwood 150 rms amp
pioneer head unit
installation kit and wiring harness
total, $715
any opinions on this? its more than i wanted to spend...

holy crap dude. you could do much better for that amount of money.
well, maybe 3-4 hundred...2 12 inch subs, a multi channel amp, and a head unit plus all the wiring...thats about it for now...i dont need top of the line equipment just reliable. i was thinking 150 rms for them...3-4 hundred would be ideal, but if its necessary i can raise that

heyy, thanks for the recommended kit. i just have a few questions. are the sub enclosed or do i need to go out and buy a box? also, do i still go to best buy or wherever and buy an installation kit/wiring harness or is it free with the headunit? thanks for the help
run power wire thru grommet on driver side (trust me), wire up new HU and run the RCA and remote lead down the right of the car right below ur glove compartment, down ur kick panel, down ur sails and then behind ur rear quarter panel and end up totally behind the rear seats, run ur ground form the little lump of metal right behind our seats but away for the fabric when seats are upright. then wire up all the wires to ur amp/subs. U might wanna disconnect the battery

damn homie, no offense, but it looks like you've both 1) never ever had a system before and 2) never learned how to use the Internet...
for decent priced head units that come with mounting kits, wiring harnesses, etc. check Crutchfield.com and SoundDomain.com ... both sites have decent prices on all I.C.E., but if you're ballin on a budget, stick with eBay... just do your research (check feedback ratings, etc) so you don't get screwed...
